FFC v Wycombe

Tuesday 15 January 2002

Will it be 'third' time lucky for Fulham on Tuesday evening?

This Third Round FA Cup tie is turning into something of a mini drama. The first scheduled match never got off the ground (cold weather, frozen pitches and so on), while the second ended in a rather disappointing 2-2 draw. Now it's time for the third and final chapter....

Craven Cottage provides the setting on Tuesday evening, a factor that should weigh heavily in Fulham's favour. They have lost only three matches at home all season - against Manchester United and Arsenal in the League, and against Tottenham in the Worthington Cup. Not a bad record for a team enjoying the rigours of Premiership football for the first time! Another win is priced at 1/4.

Wycombe may not be Premiership opposition, but they are still capable of making life uncomfortable for the Cottagers, as they did at Adams Park. A draw at half-time is therefore not out of the question, but ultimately Fulham's class should prove telling.

A £10 bet on a draw at half-time, but a Fulham win at full-time (priced at 4/1) would win you £40.

Steve Marlet was the man responsible for ensuring Fulham had another chance to string together a Cup run. His last gasp goal three minutes from time booked the replay, but it was Sylvain Legwinski who opened the scoring, and the man they call Monica is 8/1 to do the same again on Tuesday.

A £10 bet on the Frenchman to be first on the score sheet for the home side would net you £80.
