Egaleo v Fulham - Saturday 27th July 2002 Kick Off 9.00pm
Ticket price = 15 Euros (News of ticket sales to follow)
Information from trip made by Fulham Today earlier this week:
Egaleo FC play in Central Athens at the ground of Panathinaikos, a 16,600 all seater stadium. It can be reached easily by the Metro and the closest stop is Ampelokipi on Line 3 (Blue).
The stadium has been recently re-developed (it used to hold 76,000 supporters) and this is evident once inside the stadium, but the outside of the ground appears to have undergone no re-development, and looks rather run down.
The entrance for away supporters is via Gate 6, through one turnstile, and the area houses approximately 800 away supporters in a fully segregated, uncovered area. Refreshment facilities and toilet facilities are available in this area.
The area is surrounded by high fencing, topped with barbed wire; however the view of the ground is still good.
The ground will open two hours before kick-off and away supporters should be in the ground one hour prior to kick-off. All away fans will be searched by police on entry to the ground, and any items that can be thrown will be confiscated.
It was stressed that coins and lighters, and even lipsticks would be removed. No cans or bottles will be permitted into the ground - refreshments will be available inside, but will be fairly high in price, due to the fact that they are unlikely to issue change.
Flags on sticks will not be allowed into the ground.
Away fans will be kept behind at the end of the match. The length of time of this delay will be dependent upon the size of the crowd, and the time it takes the home fans to disperse.
