Chelsea's praise

Chelsea's Claudio Ranieri and Emmanuel Petit had words of comfort for Fulham after last night's game, saying Fulham were unfortunate to lose.

Mikael Forssell scored a late winner for the home side in the first west London derby at Stamford Bridge for 18 years, but Fulham dominated much of the match and really should have got something out of the game.

"Fulham played well," admitted Ranieri. "They always played football and in the second half they were the better team."

Meanwhile, Petit feels the mid-table Cottagers may feel hard done by with the result, but can take heart from the fact that they have improved immensely this season.

"They have improved a lot since they got into the Premier League," said the France international. "I think they did not deserve to lose tonight because they had great chances to score more as well."
