Spurs four wait

Saturday 23 March 2002

Les Ferdinand, Dean Richards, Teddy Sheringham and Ben Thatcher are doubtful ahead of tomorrow's trip to Fulham while Mauricio Taricco is banned.

Ferdinand is Glenn Hoddle's biggest doubt with a niggling Achilles injury and is expected to miss the clash at Craven Cottage and Steffen Iversen, who made his return in Monday's defeat to Charlton, is in line to start as Spurs look to end a run of four defeats on the bounce.

Sergei Rebrov should shake off a minor knock to take his place alongside Iversen as Sheringham continues to struggle with a calf strain, although Hoddle could bring Matthew Etherington into the side.

Thatcher and Richards both missed Monday's defeat through injury and are struggling to make tomorrow's clash, leaving Hoddle short of experienced defenders.

Taricco sits out the first game of a five-match suspension after red cards against Manchester United and Chelsea, and his absence could mean a chance for Etherington.

Stephen Clemence is in contention for a place amongst the substitutes after coming through a fourth run-out for the reserves in midweek.

Spurs (probable): Sullivan: Davies, Perry, King, Gardner, Ziege; Anderton, Sherwood, Poyet; Etherington, Iversen.
