Wednesday evening saw Arsenal crowned a Premiership Champions for 2001-02 after the Gunners defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford in one of the biggest matches of the season.
The defeat means that United now slip into third place and should the standings remain as they are, the Reds will have to enter the qualification rounds for next season's Champions League.
Fulham's next opponents Blackburn Rovers were also taking part in a trilling encounter at Anfield which saw Rovers push Liverpool all the way. Liverpool eventually ended up winning the match 4-3.
Goals from Duff, Cole and Jansen kept Blackburn in the hunt until Emile Heskey scored the winning goal with four minutes to go.
Whilst the match would have undoubtedly taken a lot out of Blackburn, the fact cannot be ignored that Rovers are going to provide a stern test for the Whites come Saturday.
