Despite suffering a 3-0 end of season defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers, Fulham have qualified for the Intertoto Cup.
With Everton losing 4-3 in a thrilling match at Highbury, Fulham's one-point lead over the Toffees was maintained.
Speaking to Fulham Today Deputy Managing Director Lee Hoos said:
"The FA have said they will enter two teams - one in the second round and one in the third. We are the highest placed team of those eligible for the second round. We will therefore qualify for the Intertoto Cup.
"There were only two other teams eligible for the second round, one was Ipswich and the other was Everton. The precedent has already been set where you don't have to finish twelfth to qualify."
The Whites will enter the competition in the second round, the first leg of which will be played at home on Saturday 6th July against the representatives from either Yugoslavia or Finland.
Should Fulham win the match, they will face the representatives from Greece in the third round.
