Steed Malbranque continued to follow Sean Davis and Zat Knight's example by putting in a man-of-the-match performance for the French under-21 side as they beat Belgium 2-0 on Tuesday evening.
The win means the French will now advance through to the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championships.
Belgium offered the French some stern resistance during the opening 45 minutes, but as the match developed, France continued to wear down their opponents.
The opening goal came in the 75th minute from a Malbranque corner, which found its way into the net after a headed deflection.
Steed was again involved in France's second goal. After making a typically surging run into the penalty area, Malbranque saw his shot cannon of the bar only for Luyindula to head home.
