Sitting pretty at the top of the table, Fulham ladies are looking forward to taking on their next Premiership opponents - Tranmere Rovers - on Sunday. With a 100% winning record, 13 goals scored and none conceded the ladies are feeling optimistic.
The season started with an outstanding victory against the Belles. Fulham dominated that game, scoring four and conceding none. The following week Everton faced a 3 - 0 defeat at Woking whilst September brought another victory for Fulham Ladies as they went on a scoring spree on the south coast putting six past Brighton & Hove Albion without reply.
Encouragingly goals have come from all over the pitch with Margunn Haugenes, Una Nwajei, Kristy Moore, Katie Chapman, Kim Jerray-Silver, Marieanne Spacey and Sanchia Duncan all scoring.
Tranmere have been in the National Division since 1996, narrowly missing relegation in their first season, they have consolidated their position since then and for the last three years have achieved a respectable fifth place in the table. Long standing Manager, Steve Williams, stepped down in the summer, player Louise Edwards took charge of the Merseyside team at the beginning of this season.
Manager Gaute Haugenes looking forward to the game said, "We are feeling confident but there are no easy games in the top flight and this will be a tough contest"
The game will be played at Heswall FC's Gayton Park, West Cheshire, kick off 2.00pm.
