Fulham's Sean Davis is being tipped as a future England international after an impressive start to the season.
The midfielder was a key member of David Platt's team at last summer's European Under-21 Championship in Switzerland and his club captain Andy Melville feels he is nearly ready to make the next step.
Davis, 22, who should play for Fulham at Sunderland tomorrow, has put in a series of good performances this season and has provided the ammunition for Junichi Inamoto and Sylvain Legwinski to get forward and score goals.
Melville said: "Sean has huge potential and he and the club have high hopes for the season. Last year was Sean's first in the Premiership and he more than held his own against more experienced players. I've heard people talk about him as a future England player and he has what it takes to make the step. The ball is in his court."
Jean Tigana is set to be without midfielder Luis Boa Morte tomorrow because of a knee problem and striker Louis Saha, who has a hamstring injury.
Defender Pierre Wome should recover from a gash on his face but Rufus Brevett may be recalled as cover, and striker Steve Marlet is available after being dropped to the reserves.
Sunderland will be without defender Emerson Thome because of a knee injury and striker Kevin Phillips is out after a hernia operation. Midfielder Gavin McCann should return after an ankle problem.
