Knight Signs Extension

Thursday 22 July 2004

Fulham Football Club is pleased to announce that central defender Zat Knight has signed an extension to his current contract. The new deal will keep the player at Fulham until the summer of 2008.

Knight made significant progress under Chris Coleman's management last season and established himself as a regular fixture in the first team. His performances even attracted the attention of England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson - who admitted that the defender was considered as a defensive option for England's Euro 2004 squad.

Speaking shortly after putting pen to paper Knight said:

"I am very happy to have committed my future to Fulham, which I know is the right move for me at this time.

"Pre-season training is going well and I know that the Manager is looking to strengthen the squad, so hopefully we can improve on the finish of last season which would be great for us and for the fans."
