Ladies Cup Final

Wednesday 3 March 2004

It's less than four weeks until this year's Women's League Cup Final; our girls will take on their great rivals Charlton Athletic at Barnet FC's Underhill Stadium on Sunday 28 March.

The game will kick off at 12 noon and although the game is televised live on Sky Sports we would like to encourage you to make the short trip to Barnet to support the girls.

Tickets can be bought on the day at £2 for adults and £1 for concessions. There are special group rates available for schools and clubs. This is available in advance only and forms can be requested by calling 020 7745 4716 or e-mailing: simon@ptarmigan.co.uk

The mighty Whites will be looking to lift their third successive League Cup trophy, after beating Arsenal in last season's Final on penalties. This will be the first time that Charlton Athletic has reached the Final of this competition. The two sides met in last season's FA Women's Cup Final, in front of 2 million viewers and 10,000 fans, where Fulham won 3-0.

Earlier this season Fulham beat Charlton 3-2 at the Valley in a much closer tie and the two teams have still to play each other at Motspur Park on Sunday 7th March in what could easily be a title decider.

Charlton Ladies have a large and loyal following, at the League game at the Valley they had over 2000 fans there and there is no doubt that they will be bringing similar numbers to this big game.

Underhill is no stranger to finals; it previously hosted the Final in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
