Fulham Football Club has today announced that a new agreement has been reached with Senegalese defensive midfielder Papa Bouba Diop that will see the player at the Club until the summer of 2009.
28 year old Bouba Diop joined Fulham in the summer of 2004 from French club Lens and, although he has not featured in recent months due to the African Nations Cup and a subsequent injury sustained in an international friendly, has been an integral part of Chris Coleman's side since he signed.
This morning at the Club's training ground Papa Bouba Diop said:
'I am very happy to have signed a new deal with Fulham as I enjoy playing my football at this club. I have been out for a while because of the African Cup of Nations and injury and I am looking forward to joining the squad on Saturday at Sunderland, as obviously it has been very difficult for me not to play with the team. I am determined to help finish the season on a high note by playing my part in the remaining games, and am looking forward to my future being with Fulham.'
Manager Chris Coleman added:
'I have always maintained that Bouba is an important player for this Club and I am delighted that he has committed his future to us until 2009 as he is very much part of my future plans. We have five games left and it's important that we conclude the season positively with some good performances, and now that he is back from injury, I'm glad that Bouba will be part of the squad to help us do just that.'
Tickets are available for Saturday's game with Charlton (April 15th) from £28 for adults, £20 concessions and £10 juniors. Call 0870 442 1234 or click here to book now.
