Volz Signs Contract Extension

Saturday 9 December 2006

Fulham Football Club has today announced that Moritz Volz has signed an extension to his contract that will see him play at the Club until the summer of 2009.

Volz joined Fulham on a permanent contract from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee in January 2004, having spent a six month loan spell at the Cottage. The twenty three year-old German born defender, joined Arsenal from Schalke 04 in June 1999 and made his debut as a substitute in the Worthington Cup. A loan spell at Wimbledon followed, where he became a regular feature and he continues to be part of the German national team set-up.

This afternoon Moritz Volz said:

‘I am very glad that I have now signed my extension with the Club. I am happy to be playing again and I am looking forward to the things that come now. Things are going well here and we want to progress as a team, and I believe the next couple of results are key in what we can hope to achieve this season.

"We always look to improve our performances as a team and obviously for me, as an individual as well. So I’m glad I’m playing regularly again and I want to make sure I keep in the team, and that we do well.’
