Chris Coleman is hoping that Fulham midfielder Papa Bouba Diop will make a quick return to full fitness. The Senegal central midfielder has been on the sidelines since picking up an injury in Fulham’s Premiership encounter against Liverpool early last December.
Whilst recent transfer window speculation has linked Diop with a number of clubs, Coleman made his stance clear on the current situation.
“To be fair to Bouba he’s not played a lot of games,” the Manager said. “I’ve not spoken to Bouba but there’s been a bit of interest from one or two clubs. He hasn’t played a lot of games for us since he came back from the African Nations Cup.
“What we’ve got to do is get him fit and get him available for us. If he’s not going to be available for us then he’s going to have to be available for someone else because we can’t keep saying ‘we know Bouba’s a good player’, he’s no good to us if he’s injured and he’s been injured too much.”
