Lauri Dalla Valle helped Crewe Alexandra into the Northern Section Semi-Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

With the game against Doncaster Rovers ending 1-1 after 90 minutes, the match went to penatlies. The striker, on loan with Crewe from Fulham, stepped up to score the Alex’s first from the spot, with the Railwaymen eventually triumphing 5-3.

Crewe are back in action on Saturday (3pm) when they take on Preston North End at Deepdale in League One.

Dan Burn and Yeovil Town also progressed to the Southern Section Semi-Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night after a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers. Yeovil return to League One matters on Saturday (3pm) when they host Notts County.

In the Blue Square Bet Premier, Marcus Bettinelli and Dartford lost 1-0 at Nuneaton Town on Tuesday night. Dartford, who are fifth in the table, are at home to Lincoln City on Saturday (3pm).
