Berba Exclusive

He doesn’t do many interviews – but star striker Dimitar Berbatov talks exclusively to the official matchday programme for the visit of Newcastle United on Monday night (8pm).

The Bulgarian has shone for the Whites since his August switch from Manchester United in a deal many pundits have called the transfer of the season so far.

“I like to play with beauty and grace - that has always been my philosophy from a young age,” he says. “That’s how I play and that’s what football is about. Plenty of football players play like this and that is what I want to watch.

“I don’t want to watch players puffing around the pitch. You see games where the ball is flying from one box to another and it makes my neck hurt. That is not football for me.”

The programme - available in both traditional print format and digitally - also includes exclusive interviews with Martin Jol, Mahamadou Diarra, Simon Morgan, John Mitchell, Gordon Davies, Newcastle defender Mike Williamson and Toon legend Bobby Moncur.

In addition, the digital version bring fans video interviews with Steve Sidwell, Brede Hangeland, highlights from the Under-21s v Liverpool and a flashback from a clash with Newcastle at the Cottage back in 2007.

With all the usual news and views from in and around the Training Ground, plus much more besides, the official Fulham programme really is the essential matchday accessory. Priced £3.50, the 84-page publication is available from various sellers on Stevenage Road from two hours before kick-off. Fans can also order copies online by heading here.

The digital edition of the programme is available from 12pm on Monday. Click here for more details of how to download your digital edition.
