Martin Jol’s frustrations continued on Saturday afternoon as Fulham succumbed to a second away defeat in as many games when we went down 4-0 to Liverpool.
The Reds put in a dominant performance and Whites fans will be disappointed with the Team’s lacklustre display at Anfield, as they were comprehensively beaten.
"We were our own worst enemy today,” Jol said after the game. “The goals we conceded were very soft and we should have done better.
"We had a few problems in midfield with two or three players missing and that didn't help. The idea was to put pressure on Liverpool and get support to Dimitar Berbatov but that just didn't happen.
"It was the first time some players played in certain roles and, at times, it looked like they had never played alongside one another before.”
The result means the Whites remain 13th in the Barclays Premier League table but our Manager is confident that we will be back climbing the ladder before too long.
"We're on 20 points and we have a bit of a cushion,” he said. “We've had a lot of injury problems, but once those players are back we will be fine. We played some very good football before and I'm confident we will do that again.
"But there's no doubt that we have to pick up the points and do better than we did today.
"The next two games are very important. We've got Southampton and then Swansea City; both at home, but we need to show more conviction.”
