Matthew Briggs played the full 90 minutes but Bristol City lost for the fifth game in succession as Sean Scannell's first-half goal gave hosts Huddersfield Town victory on Saturday.

The loss leaves the Robins in 23rd place in the Championship. They head to Birmingham City on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

In the same division, Kerim Frei was introduced for the last seven minutes but couldn’t prevent Cardiff City from going down to a 2-1 defeat at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Cardiff stay top of the Championship. They travel to struggling Charlton Athletic on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Elsewhere, Dan Burn and Yeovil Town went down to a 3-0 defeat at Preston North End in the First Round of the FA Cup on Saturday. Yeovil return to League One action on Tuesday (7.45pm) when they play host to Stevenage.

Neil Etheridge wasn’t given permission to feature in the FA Cup for Bristol Rovers as they lost 2-1 at home to Sheffield United. Rovers are in League Two action on Tuesday (7.45pm) when they welcome Southend United to the Memorial Ground.

Richard Peniket was an unused substitute as Kidderminster Harriers lost 2-0 in the FA Cup First Round to Oldham Athletic. Harriers play Woking in a Blue Square Bet Premier fixture on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Dartford and Marcus Betinelli weren’t in FA Cup action at the weekend. They host Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday (7.45pm) in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Finally, young Fulham goalkeeper Jesse Joronen played as Maidenhead United drew 1-1 at Salisbury City on Saturday in the Blue Square Bet South. Maidenhead are away at Gloucester City in an FA Trophy Third Round Qualifier on Saturday (3pm).
