After last weekend’s defeat of Manchester City, Fulham’s Under-18s return to action on Saturday when they host Middlesbrough at Motspur Park.
Steve Wigley’s side have already got the better of Boro this term, winning 5-1 in the North-East in September – with Cauley Woodrow (3), Josh Passley and George Williams on target.
Woodrow (pictured right) notched another three in the recent victory over City, taking his season’s tally to 12 in nine matches, with Muamer Tankovic also finding the net in the 4-1 win. It was Fulham’s first win in four outings, having slipped to three successive defeats prior to the 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite playing well, Middlesbrough are still searching for their first win of the season having gone down 3-1 at home last Saturday to an impressive Wolves side. So far, they have drawn three and lost six.
As a result, they remain at the foot of the Barclays U18 Premier League Group Three, while Fulham enter Saturday’s encounter in second place, four points behind league leaders Chelsea.
The game will also act as a dress rehearsal for next month’s FA Youth Cup Third Round tie, which will take place at Motspur Park on Thursday 13th December (7pm).
