Fulham Under-18s head to Southampton on Wednesday afternoon to play their final game of 2013.
Steve Wigley’s table-topping side were last in Barclays U18 Premier League action in late November when they won 4-0 at home to Norwich City thanks to goals from Elijah Adebayo, Dean O’Halloran, Cameron Burgess and Liam Donnelly.
Last week, the Whites advanced into the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup with a convincing 4-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
Emerson Hyndman got things going for Fulham, before O’Halloran doubled the lead with a neat finish. Rangers then pulled one back but the Whites went into the break 3-1 up courtesy of a George Williams strike, with Jordan Evans adding a fourth in the second half.
Wednesday’s opponents Southampton, a side Wigley once managed on two separate occasions in the top flight, currently sit in eighth place in the table, with 18 points from 13 games.
Their last match saw Jason Dodd’s side go down to a 2-0 defeat at Norwich. However, in their previous encounter they thrashed rivals Portsmouth 7-0 in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup. Sam Gallagher (3), Jake Hesketh (2), Niall Mason and Mark Irvine grabbed the goals for Saints.
