Bryan Ruiz is the cover star and main interview in Saturday’s official matchday programme for the visit of Manchester United.
The Costa Rican star admits his first season in English football came as a ‘shock’. But Ruiz has since emerged as a player of real importance - one that is not only vital to the balance of the Team, but one that can ultimately make a difference.
“I’ve had to adapt my game a lot,” he says. “I’m a different player to the one I was in Holland or even last season. When I arrived it was a big adjustment and those first games were very difficult.
“I’ve had to learn more about defending and chasing back. Of course, I’m at my best in the final third, but you have to contribute to the greater picture. I think it’s something you just have to get used to. If you don’t, I’m not sure how successful a player will be.”
Elsewhere in the only matchday magazine that matters - which is available in both traditional print format and digitally - are exclusive interviews with Martin Jol, Aaron Hughes, Micky Adams, Rafael, Arthur Albiston and Les Strong.
Jol pens his regular Manager’s notes, Hughes takes the Fulham 50 challenge and Strong remembers former Whites and United star George Best.
United legend Albiston gives his thoughts on the Cottage encounter, while current Red Devils star Rafael assesses his side’s season so far. Former Fulham player and Manager Adams is the subject of our ‘Cult Heroes’ feature as he looks back on his eventful spell in SW6.
With all the usual news and views from in and around the Club, plus much more besides, the official Fulham programme really is the essential matchday accessory. Priced £3.50, the 84-page publication is available from various sellers on Stevenage Road from two hours before kick-off. Fans can also order copies online by heading here.
The digital edition of the programme is available from 9am on the day of the game. Click here for details on how to download your digital edition.
