Inside Old Trafford

Ahead of our FA Cup with Budweiser clash with Manchester United on Saturday (5.30pm), we caught up with Reds fan Marv Bailey who provides a home perspective on the Old Trafford tie.

What’s your view of United’s campaign so far?

I was slightly worried after seeing us leak so many goals at the start of the campaign, but with Nemanja Vidic back United showed they can defend, especially at White Hart Lane last weekend. Up front, no problems whatsoever!

What were the aims and expectations at the start of the season?

My expectations are to win everything, I guess the same as the manager and players. Realistically, Barcelona must be favourites for the UEFA Champions League, but I think we’ve got a great chance in the FA Cup with Budweiser and I also want the Barclays Premier League back!

You’re five points clear of Manchester City – are you worried they might catch you again?

Nope, I'm pretty confident United will win the title this season.

How much did seeing City win the title last season hurt you?

It was pretty painful, but from a neutral's point of view, I don't think the season will ever come down to the final kick of the game again. It still hurts each time I hear ‘Aguuuuueeerrrrroooo’ on the televison, mind.

Who have been your star players this season?

Robin van Persie has been outstanding. How Ryan Giggs keeps doing it as well is beyond me!

The transfer window is now open - do you expect United to make any moves?

I don't think so. There's still talk of one or two players, but who knows!

What sort of game are you expecting on Saturday?

United will go into it full of confidence, while Fulham are having a bit of a bad run of late. United will be favourites and I expect them to win comfortably.

Is the FA Cup still an important competition in your eyes?

Absolutely - it’s the most famous competition in the world.

For those Fulham fans making the trip, what are the best things about visiting Old Trafford?

A visit to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ is a must. To be amongst 75,000 fans is a fantastic experience.

What's the one song Fulham fans are bound to hear?

‘Glory, glory, Man United’.

Score prediction?

Manchester United to win with a Van Persie hat-trick.
