U21s Face Mackems

Following the postponement of their clash with Blackburn Rovers, Fulham’s Under-21s return to action on Monday (12pm) when they make the long trip to Sunderland.

Kit Symons’ side will be looking to get their first win of the second phase of Barclays Premier Under-21 League fixtures, having slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea earlier this month.

The Black Cats’ recent action has also been hampered by the weather, with their recent trip to Middlesbrough called off. Their game against the Whites will be their first of the Group One matches.

Sunderland finished in fifth place in National Group Two in the first phase of fixtures, winning four and drawing five of their 12 games.

Despite missing out on qualification to the Elite Group, the Black Cats impressed and were certainly no pushovers as they finished just three points behind runners-up Manchester United. They also held group winners Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-2 draw, before a narrow 2-1 defeat against the North Londoners.
