Dimitar Berbatov's volley against Stoke has won our Goal of the Season award after beating Giorgos Karagounis' effort against Blackpool and Bryan Ruiz's strike at Reading into second and third place.
As a goalless first half against Stoke ticked down in February, the Whites built up a good passing move which found Sascha Riether down the right and the German’s deep cross was headed out and up into the air by the defender. But the ball did not clear the area and Berbatov, watching it all the way onto his foot, took aim and hammered an incredible volley past a helpless Asmir Begovic and into the top corner. And it was enough to seal a 1-0 win too.
