Fulham’s Under-21s will be aiming for a third straight win when they head to Blackburn Rovers on Friday evening (7pm).
Successive victories over Aston Villa and Chelsea have moved the Whites up to fourth place in Group 1 of the Barclays U21 Premier League table and Kit Symons will be hoping his side can continue their recent good form at Ewood Park.
Against Chelsea at the Cottage on Friday, the Whites hit the woodwork three times, but Lasse Vigen Christensen’s second-half strike proved enough to secure the win over the Blues who saw Lewis Baker dismissed late on for a bad challenge on Chris David.
“Overall, I think we deserved the win,” said Symons afterwards. “It’s just disappointing that we didn’t score more because we should have had three or four.
“It’s nice to get the win against Chelsea, the boys know what games with them are all about. They secured the SW6 bragging rights I suppose.”
Blackburn have won two of their six fixtures of Phase 2, but threw away a two-goal lead to go down to a 3-2 defeat at Everton in their last match.
