Max Moves To Celtic

Fulham Football Club can announce that Academy goalkeeper Max Oberschmidt has joined Celtic on a loan deal until 31st December 2013.

Oberschmidt joined Fulham from FC Energie Cottbus four years ago and was sent out on loan to non-league Harrow Borough FC earlier this month, but the German youth international has now cut his time there short and moved to the Scottish champions to provide cover for Fraser Forster and Lukasz Zaluska.

The 18-year-old suffered a series of injuries which hindered his development early in his Fulham career but has shown great potential and, as a result of the Hoops’ qualification to the Group Stage of the Champions League, Max will get a chance to play in the inaugural UEFA Youth League: an Under-19 competition which will run parallel to that of the senior tournament.

Celtic will face the youth sides of Barcelona, AC Milan and Ajax and the Club wishes Max luck as he gets a chance to play in European competition.
