Fulham Football Club is to delighted to announce it will host its second charity football match at Craven Cottage on Saturday 24th May (3pm). A mixture of ex-pros, sportsmen and celebrities will take to the field to compete for the Shooting Star CHASE Cup.
Following the huge success of last season's inaugural event, this year's match will again raise funds for both the Fulham Football Club Foundation and the Club’s charity partner for the 2013/14 season, Shooting Star CHASE - a charity dedicated to supporting life-limited children and their families. This year's match will again feature a Fulham All Stars team of former players, which last season saw the likes of Chris Coleman, Barry Hayles, Kit Symons, Rufus Brevett and Sean Davis return to the pitch at Craven Cottage. The opponents will be a Sealand All Stars side made up of celebrities and sportsmen, who are looking to exact revenge after the 7-5 defeat last May.
Sealand is a principality, based seven miles off the Norfolk coast. They have a recognised international football team with high profile members, such as Ed Sheeran (singer and Baron of Sealand), Ralf Little (actor and captain of the team) and Gordon Smart (editor of The Scottish Sun newspaper).
A superb mixture of ex-professionals and celebrities have already confirmed their participation and given their time for free. Confirmed for the Sealand squad this year are former world champion boxers Joe Calzaghe and Darren Barker, Olympians Mark Hunter and Dalton Grant, ex-professional footballer Jody Morris, former Rugby League and Union star Brian Carney, The Only Way is Essex stars Mario Falcone and Charlie Simms, and Eastenders actor Matt Di Angelo.
