My World Cup Memories

With the 2014 World Cup just days away, several Fulham stars spoke to the official website to give their memories on the famous sporting event. Next up is Kieran Richardson…

What’s the first World Cup you can remember watching?

I vaguely remember Italia ’90 but the first one I watched properly was USA ‘94. Romario was up front for Brazil, annihilating people. He scored five goals during the tournament and won the Golden Ball.

What was the best World Cup game you’ve seen?

It’s more goals that stand out for me but the France v Brazil Final in 1998 is one game I remember, when Zinedine Zidane got two.

Player to watch this summer?

Lionel Messi – he’s got a lot to prove as he needs to perform on the highest level like he does for his club. Cristiano Ronaldo is going into the tournament in great form and he could really tear it up.

Team tipped to win?

I’m going for Brazil. They’re the home nation and they’ve got a great team.

Who do you think could be dark horses?

Germany or Italy are always there or thereabouts.

Don't forget, you can watch England's World Cup fixtures against Uruguay and Costa Rica at Craven Cottage, with an exclusive screening ticket. Find out more here.
