Lasse Vigen Christensen’s intricate strike at home to Huddersfield Town has been voted as our Goal of the Season by the Fulham supporters.
With the Terriers having just equalised, Christensen collected possession 30 yards from goal, skipped between two opposition men, and played a one-two with Hugo Rodallega. He then slipped the ball through the legs of Town captain Mark Hudson before dinking a perfect finish beyond the onrushing goalkeeper Alex Smithies.
A tighter vote than our Player of the Season poll, 28.7 per cent of fans agreed that Christensen’s effort against Huddersfield was our best strike of the campaign. His closest challenger was himself, though, with his sublime breakaway goal against Sheffield Wednesday coming in second with 27.1 per cent.
Matt Smith’s stunner at home to Wigan Athletic came third with 16.1 per cent, while Nikolay Bodurov’s clever flick to set Fulham on their way to victory against Derby County secured 13.3 per cent of the voting.
Ross McCormack completes the top-five, as 5.1 per cent of fans believed his piledriver against Huddersfield should have been named Goal of the Season.
