Ryan Tunnicliffe’s exquisite lob against Bristol City has been named the Coral Goal of the Month for October.
As sublime as the finish itself was, the build-up play to create the chance was just as good, culminating in an inch-perfect, first-time chipped through ball from James Husband to send Tunnicliffe in on goal.
The midfielder saw Robins goalkeeper Frank Fielding slightly off his line and dinked an excellent side-foot volley over him from just outside the box to make it 4-0 to Fulham, before celebrating wildly in front of the travelling fans behind the goal.
The effort was a comfortable winner in October’s competition with 48.8 per cent of the votes. Jordan Evans’ long-range free-kick for the Under-21s against West Ham United came second with 15.4 per cent, while Moussa Dembélé’s second goal against Reading came third with 9.9 per cent.
