Ross McCormack’s strike in the 3-2 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers has been voted Fulham’s Goal of the Month for January, in association with Coral.
As Tom Cairney brought down a deep Dan Burn cross, the advanced McCormack had the astuteness to sprint back out of the area to give his teammate an option.
It was one Cairney took as he plays a short pass to the Fulham Captain, who’s 22 yards out at this point, and he guides a perfect first-time shot across goal and inside the far post, leaving Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme with no chance.
It was wonderful technique from the Whites’ top scorer, and he ended up with 40.2 per cent of the votes.
He was pushed all the way, though, by 17-year-old midfielder Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson, whose lovely placed effort against Reading Under-18s received 32.8 per cent of the fans’ votes.
