Tayo Edun has been named in the England Under-18 squad for their double header of friendlies against South Korea next month.
The nations will meet just outside the capital city of Seoul at the Icheon City Stadium on Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th June.
The call-up comes seven months after Edun was cruelly ruled out of England Under-17s’ World Cup campaign after picking up a groin injury whilst on international duty.
“It was hard having to fly home,” he told Fulham’s matchday programme. “I watched the games online when I returned and I just had to try and look ahead as there’s still lots for me to try and achieve.
“But it was tough not being involved with both England and Fulham. I missed out on a lot.”
The 17-year-old recovered ahead of schedule, and went on to feature in the final three fixtures of the season.
“It feels great to be back,” he said. “When I suffered the injury back in October I didn’t think I’d play again this season, but I’m back now and I’ve had the chance to get a few games in before the campaign was out.”
