Dennis Adeniran and Ryan Sessegnon each played the full 80 minutes as England Under-17s won their second European Championship match 2-0 against holders France on Monday.
Les Bleus started strongly and hit the crossbar through Rafik Guitane, but the Young Lions hit back to open the scoring through Ipswich Town’s Ben Morris after quarter of an hour.
In the second half Andre Dozzell – who made his full professional debut against Fulham last month – sent Arsenal man Reiss Nelson in on goal. He was taken out by the French goalkeeper who was subsequently sent off, with Nelson picking himself up to dispatch the spot-kick.
England’s final group match is against current leaders Denmark on Thursday (4pm).
