Tom Cairney’s debut year at Craven Cottage has culminated in a second-place finish in the Player of the Season vote.

The playmaker regularly thrilled his new fanbase with a succession of stunning goals, and he ended the campaign with eight to his name – a solid return from a midfield player.

He was one of the Whites’ most creative individuals over the course of the season, creating on average 1.4 chances for his teammates every game. He also topped the dribbles per match (1.2) and pass accuracy (87.6 per cent) charts.

His best form came in February when he netted four times in as many games, a run which was acknowledged with a Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month nomination, an award eventually won by Bristol City’s Aden Flint.

His eight Man of the Match awards was also the most won by any player.

A total of 9.4 per cent of Fulham fans voted for Cairney as our best player in 2015/16, and you can see why in his highlights reel below.

The winner of this year’s Player of the Season award will be revealed on Thursday.
