Back In Business

It was April last term when Marcus Bettinelli broke back into Fulham’s starting XI. He went on to play a major part in the Whites’ march to the Play-Offs.

Now recalled for the spot between the sticks in recent weeks at the expense of David Button, Bettinelli is hoping for a repeat performance of last year’s top-six push.

“It has been really frustrating, I can’t lie,” Marcus tells the official matchday programme for Saturday’s visit of Barnsley. “There were times I’d go home after games thinking I was going to get a chance soon, but it didn’t come.

“The gaffer’s door is always open for people to go and talk to him but I’m never going to be the guy demanding to play. That’s never been me and I don’t think that ever will be me. I’ve waited for my chance and I’ve done well in training - that’s all I could do.”
