Fulham’s Under-19s have travelled to Germany to take part in the Sparkasse & VGH Cup in Göttingen.
It’s a five-a-side indoor football tournament, and it is the eighth time the Young Whites have flown over to take part.
The tournament is over four days and starts with the preliminary rounds. The competition moves onto qualifiers, and from that onto the quarter-finals onthe final day.
In Fulham’s group are JFV West, JFV Eichsfeld, JSG Auetal-Altes Amt, JSG Uslar/Solling, Hertha BSC, Eintr. Braunschweig.
In later rounds Fulham could come up against teams in different groups, also including last year’s winners Manchester United.
Other teams include Austria Wien, FC Kopenhagen, FC Brugge, FSV Mainz 05, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Shalke 04, Hamburger SV, Hannover 96, Hertha BSC and Eintracht Braunschweig.
Each match is 13 minutes long; cards result in two-minute sin bins. From the quarter final stages the matches go to penalties if drawn.
