Aleksandar Mitrović’s prolific spell at Fulham has continued with him winning February’s Goal of the Month competition, presented by ICM.
Mitrović had two efforts in contention for the award, but it’s his stunner against league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers which has won him the trophy.
It’s a goal that perhaps best sums up what Mitrović is about as a player. Receiving the ball with his back to the Hammy End, he showed great strength to shrug off his marker as if he wasn’t there.
He then spins away, nipping the ball beyond the reach of another covering defender before letting rip into the bottom left hand corner from 20 yards out.
In another month, Floyd Ayité may have expected to walk away with the accolade following his stunning long ranger against Aston Villa, but he had to settle for second place with 36.9 per cent of the votes.Mitrović’s first Fulham goal against Bristol City came third with 2.9 per cent, while his Wolves effort took 55.8.
