Aleksandar Mitrović made it two Man of the Match awards in a week after picking up the accolade for his performance at Preston North End.
The striker duplicated his two goal display earlier in the week against Sheffield United with an arguably more important brace at Deepdale.
His first came following good work from Cyrus Christie who had not long been on as a substitute. As he did on his Fulham debut, the right-back picked out his teammate perfectly, with Mitrović doing the rest.
After the Lilywhites’ equaliser, a draw seemed the most likely result, but our welcome habit of snatching late goals came to the fore once again. Tom Cairney lofted a tempting high cross into the box to Mitrović, who cleverly guided his header back across goal and inside the far post.
That takes the Newcastle United loanee’s current scoring spree to a phenomenal seven goals in five matches.
As was the case in his previous outing, Mitrović won by a landslide vote. 69.6 per cent of supporters opted for the in-form Serbian, with Denis Odoi coming second on 19.3 per cent. Kevin McDonald rounded out the top three with 3.67.
