Sergio Aguero is full of respect for Fulham ahead of our meeting at the Etihad Stadium.
We haven’t faced Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer in six years, but up until that point the Argentine striker had netted four goals in three appearances against the Whites.
“It’s been some time since we played them last,” he told City’s official website. “Here’s hoping my good run continues against them – but I remember them all being tough matches.
“They impressed me last season and went on a long unbeaten run and have started this season well. We’ll keep focused, we’ll stay true to our game, and we’ll aim for the win as we always do.
“They have a long-standing tradition in England of being a good footballing team and now they’ve won a place back in the Premier League.
“It’s no secret this is one of the most competitive tournaments in the world, played at the highest of levels, so it doesn’t matter if they are fresh from promotion or not – they’ve earned their place here. We’ll play this game as any other.”
