Head Coach Presser

Slaviša Jokanović is aware of how difficult Saturday's challenge will be, but says Fulham will be looking for no fewer than three points on Merseyside.

The Whites take on Everton at Goodison Park knowing that a victory would see us leapfrog Marco Silva’s side in the standings.

“Everton is a really good team,” Jokanović said in his pre-match press conference. “We talk about the top-six English teams, and if we add Everton then we start talking about a top-seven.

“Away from home, it’s a really complicated game for us, like playing at the Etihad [against Manchester City] or Wembley [against Tottenham Hotspur].

“They’re a strong and experienced Premier League team, and we know they’re going to give us problems there. Our job is to find solutions and push hard and fight for the victory.

“Many years ago I played at Goodison. It’s a fantastic place to play football. They are a complicated and tough opponent in front of us.

“We are here to win the games, this is the only target for us. We’ve only won one, we desperately need the points and we will push hard to win the game.

“We are going to arrive there with motivation and intention of fighting for three points.”

Our previous two league fixtures have seen both City and Watford take second minute leads, and when asked how important it was to remedy that, Jokanović admitted: “It’s crucial.

“The last two games we conceded a goal after 90 seconds, and obviously it’s really important for us that we don’t have this kind of situation in the future.

“When we start the game in this way, everything is more complicated and definitely we must find a solution to this problem.”

Fulham currently sit on five points from the opening six fixtures, and Jokanović is keen to have more days like the one that saw Burnley put to the sword a month ago.

“It’s always important to win the game,” he stated. “The expectation of our supporters is like our expectation, to win the games.

“We are in a similar situation to Everton and other Premier League teams, we consider Saturday afternoon the next chance for us to be strong, to be brave and fight for three points.

“I hope and I expect we can make this step immediately in this game we are going to play Saturday afternoon.”
