A work in progress. Last year was a major disappointment, and although we haven't been as good as we would have hoped so far, the Everton fans are actually looking forward to going to Goodison again. We've carried a lot of injuries and therefore Marco Silva hasn't been able to pick his own team yet. I firmly believe that the sending off of Richarlison at Bournemouth cost us seven points.
Richarlison. It was a massive blow losing him for two league games as he currently looks on a different level to his teammates.
Despite the barren years, Everton are still a massive club with a massive following wherever they go, so we should be able to compete for a top-four place. This year we would expect to finish seventh or eighth, while a cup run would be nice!
They've had a couple of tough away games but other than that they have been as competitive as I would have expected them to be. They would have been disappointed with the opening day defeat to Palace, but I think they had a good transfer window and will improve as the season goes on.
Aleksandar Mitrović will cause us problems, especially from set-pieces as Silva operates zonal marking which the players don’t yet seem completely comfortable with.
I think it will be an open game. I'd like to see Yerry Mina, if he’s fit, and Bernard starting for Everton. The betting man in me would suggest both teams to score with hopefully Everton edging a thriller.
There are plenty of pubs along County Road which is adjacent to the main stand where away fans are always welcome.
It’s an old, traditional ground but with that comes the dreaded obstructed views that Everton fans are used to, but probably not so welcome to an away fan making their first journey to Goodison.
As I said earlier, I’m expecting goals so I'm going for 3-2 Everton as both sides like to play open football. We can score goals but haven't yet kept a clean sheet.
