31 cyclists, 130 miles, £40,000 raised, and an away win for FFC!
Easter weekend saw 31 Fulham fans complete the second annual Away Day Cycle in support of the Foundation.
Departing from Craven Cottage, and with former Whites striker Paul Peschisolido in tow, the riders cycled south via Richmond Park and Hampton Court before taking on the quieter Surrey Lanes. After 80 miles and a few hills, everyone made it into Winchester as day one came to a close. A group dinner was topped off with awards, including a signed 1998 Peschisolido shirt won by Alex Esson.

Day two included more than 40 miles through the majestic New Forest, with riders dodging the odd wild pony. Under the hot sun, and with the Foundation’s community work in mind, the group pushed on. It wasn’t long before cyclists made their way to Vitality Stadium, welcomed by the cheers of fellow FFC supporters.
New to the Away Day Cycle, Nathan Crosbie said of his experience: “For me, it was a faultless weekend and it was clear to see how much time, organisation and thought had gone into everything to make the whole event run as smoothly as possible, allowing us to focus on our part in fundraising and completing the cycle.
“I thought the route was really well planned with some great scenery along the way and was really well led by the ride leaders with enough rest stops to keep us going as well. Friday evening was a great way to chat with the other riders, and the presentation was a nice touch to finish off the evening.
“I had a few chats with a couple of guys on the way into Bournemouth and they shared many of the points I've just made. They also touched on how unique it was to start with our jersey hanging up in the changing rooms and also in finding a personal letter to thank us and explain how the fundraising would benefit the Foundation as well.
“All these small details will make the whole experience the more memorable for everyone and really fits the ethos of what Fulham as a football club is all about. Of course, it was great to cap it all off with a win on Saturday as well!”
