For Aleksandar Mitrović, attentions immediately turned from celebration to preparation this week, ahead of “another 90 minutes of war” at Selhurst Park.
The win over Brighton & Hove Albion shortened the gap between Fulham and safety, but Mitrović says there was no time to dwell with another quickfire fixture on the horizon on Saturday.
“We can be confident but the game is gone now,” he told fulhamfc.com. “We enjoyed it but straight away we had to recover and prepare for the next game.
“This match was good, it was an unbelievable night, but it’s now behind us and now we fully focus on Crystal Palace.
“That’s going to be a really tough game, like Brighton was, and we need to be prepared for another battle, another 90 minutes of war, another final, and hopefully we will get three more points.
“[Brighton] was a big step for us, we now have one final less, we have 14 more, with our next big derby on Saturday away at Palace – a good team, a good opponent, so we will see and hopefully we will continue like this.”
