Fulham Under-19s were back in action in the Sparkasse & VGH Cup this evening, with two more games in the ‘Rewe Group.’
Two emphatic wins and a clean sheet all but secured our place in the next group. A 6-0 win against SVG Einbeck and 9-0 win against of JSG Eint. HöhßernSee mounted 15 goals in the two games.
The Young Whites kicked off the second day of the tournament against another local side, SVG Einbeck. The performance suggested that Fulham meant business and started the second day as they ended the first.
The opening day jitters were completely disbanded as the local German side were dispatched.Nicolas Santos-Clase’s treble, along with Sonny Hilton, Tyrese Francois and Fabio Carvalho goals sealed an emphatic win, and raised a few eyebrows among those watching on.
This heaped more pressure on the bigger sides, Mainz and Düsseldorf, as the German sides were yet to kick a ball in the group.
The last of the local teams the Young Whites would face came in the form of JSG Eint. HöhßernSee. Francois gave us the lead moments after the start, keeping up his fine scoring record. Hilton popped up with another goal before Francois helped himself to his sixth of the tournament.
Hilton was back on the scene to carve a way through and hammer home another before Ben Davis scored his first of the tournament to give Fulham a 5-0 lead with only five minutes played.
Cody Drameh got in on the act to get off the mark in the tournament with two strikes - Fulham in cruise control. Cameron Thompson helped himself to a simple finish. Davis scored his second with a curler as Fulham romped home 9-0 winners. The win all but securing our place in the next round.
The trickier tests in our final group games follow tomorrow, in the form of Mainz and Düsseldorf.
