U18s: Reading Preview

Thursday 14 March 2019 10:02

Fulham Under-18s will be looking to continue their impressive run of form as they travel to Reading’s Training Ground.

The Young Whites go into the game on the back of three league wins in a row following a barren run of form through late 2018. A 2-0 victory over West Ham, with goals from Terry Ablade and Harvey Elliott ensured Colin Omogbehin’s side cruised to another victory.

Our visit to Reading comes with The Royals languishing in tenth place as Fulham have an eye on fourth place, now sitting in fifth, one point behind last week’s opponents West Ham.

Last Time Out:

Reading will be fearing the visit of Fulham after a blitz from the midfield trio Sylvester Jasper, Fabio Carvalho and Sonny Hilton put seven past them at Motspur Park. The three worked in tandem to dismantle the Royals, each playing a role in assisting or scoring each of the goals.

Zico Asare has an eye on going unbeaten for the rest of the season as there is a real belief and solidity throbbing through his side.

“That’s three wins in a row for us with two clean sheets thrown in as well.  This is good because earlier in the season we were shipping goals a lot more regularly. We’re picking up wins and clean sheets along the way now so we look good as a unit.

“We are trying to go unbeaten for the rest of the campaign. We need to be solid and keep scoring and we will be in the mix for a top four finish.

“I can get forward and get back at full back. It’s a bit different because earlier in the season I was centre half. I feel I can offer more at right back so it’s all good for me.

“We are more solid as a unit. We’ve only conceded once in this winning run. Now we are taking our chances and have six goals in this run we are being more clinical to go with it.
