Fulham return to winning ways in the PL2 with a 4-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.

Fulham picked up a resounding 4-0 victory and returned to winning ways at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night at Motspur Park.

A Stephen Humphrys brace and superb solo efforts from Tayo Edun and George Williams were enough to see the Whites win confortably on a chilly night.

Peter Grant made five changes from the side that lost to Charlton the week before and saw the return of striker Stephen Humphrys after recovering from illness and also George Williams who had been on loan at MK Dons.

After a tepid start from both sides Luca De La Torre came close to breaking the deadlock in the fifth minute when a cross from the right wing looped up over the Brighton keeper and almost fell in at the far post.

The Whites began to turn the screw in the 20th minute when Grant switched the wing players round with De La Torre moving to the left and Williams to the right. Within a few minutes the deadlock was broken when Humphrys pounced on a loose ball in the box when Brighton failed to clear their lines from the corner. The in-form striker made no mistake and rolled it home from 4 yards out.

The scores remained level courtesy of a superb last ditch block from Aron Davies in the 34th minute after an unfortunate slip from Josh Smile allowed Brighton space in the box. Then moments later Jesse Joronen produced a smart reflex save down to his right to deny a player on the follow up.

The lead was doubled just before half-time when Edun produced a superb solo goal. Reading the through ball he jumped in and stole possession. After playing the give and go with Humphrys he burst into the box and riffled home into the bottom right-hand corner after showing exceptional speed and composure to finish with a Brighton defender breathing down his neck.

The Whites made a change at the start of the second half through an injury to Josh Smile. Josh Walker came on to replace him. The change saw Lasse Vigen Christensen drop back to a holding role in place of Smile.

The second half continued in a similar vein to the first with Fulham dominating. Humphrys was almost at it again after a superb run and cross from Marlon Fossey down the right wing, but he could not direct his first time effort on target.

However, in the 56th minute a calamitous error from the Brighton saw Humphrys gifted with his second. A pass out played straight into the path of the striker and the rest was history.

Fulham simply had more energy all across the park with Cauley Woodrow, Williams and Humphrys not allowing the Brighton players any time in their own half. Woodrow came close with ten minutes to go, unleashing a superb strike from 30 yards out that missed the right post by a slim margin.

Deep into stoppage Williams made it 4 with a solid strike from distance that flew into the bottom corner from all of 30 yards out.

A rattled Brighton side simply had no answer.
