Fulham pick up a resounding win at home to West Ham United on a chilly Monday night.

Fulham picked up an impressive 4-1 win over West Ham United at Craven Cottage in the PL2 on a bitterly cold Monday night.

A first half Steven Humphrys brace and Dennis Adeniran header had the Whites well on their way at the interval before an Antonio Martinez penalty at the start of the second period gave the visitors hope. However, Lasse Vigen Christensen smashed home in the 69th minute to put the encounter beyond doubt.

Peter Grant named a strong starting XI featuring numerous First Team players throughout the spine of the side.  Marcus Bettinelli, Christensen, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jozabed and Cauley Woodrow all featured.

The visitors started brightly and had an appeal for an early penalty waved away in the 9th minute when Toni Martinez went down just inside the area under a fair tackle from Marlon Fossey. Fossey was involved against minutes later when he overlapped on the right flank. If not for a superb tackle from the retreating Hammers defender he could have fed an unmarked Steven Humphrys in the box.

The Whites continued to grow into the encounter and took the lead in the 24th minute following some fluid counter-attacking football. After winning possession in the centre of the park a long ball was plucked from the air by the striker. He took a touch and curled one into the right hand corner from 20 yards out.

The Fulham lead was doubled moments later when a rampant Fulham earned a corner after Christensen was denied by a reflex save. From the resulting corner Sean Kavanagh whipped in a delightful cross that was met by the head of Dennis Adeniran. The young midfielder despatching his chance in similar fashion to the League Cup game v Leyton Orient.

The tireless striker grabbed his second of the game after some excellent work from Fossey down the right wing. He skinned the Hammers left back and squared to Humphrys who was in space 6 yards out. There was no doubt where the ball was heading next and the powerful striker slid home past a helpless keeper.

A rampant Fulham saw out the first half in style, pressing for a 4th with a West Ham outfit run ragged by a team brimming with confidence and a perfect blend of youth and experience.

15 minutes into the second half the Hammers had hope when Martinez slid home from the penalty spot to cut the deficit to two.  A solid defensive partnership of captain Sean Kavanagh and Aron Davies steadied the ship following the goal and the Whites recovered.

Despite the setback the Whites continued to press and padded their lead in the 69th minute when some fine work from Tayo Edun opened up some space on the counter. The tenacious midfielder won an aerial duel in the centre of the park and pushed the play forward. After spotting a surging Christensen he played an inch perfect square ball to the Dane and he did the rest, finishing with the thunderous drive from 7 yards out. It was just rewards for two players who had been full of running all night.

With the temperature dropping at the Cottage, a dogged Fulham side played out a tidy final quarter and secured the three points.
