Lasse Vigen Christensen

Midfielder

Biography

Lasse Vigen Christensen is regarded as one of Denmark’s most promising young players - one that over the past few seasons had captured the attentions of a number of Europe’s leading clubs.

His arrival at the Cottage in January 2012 was greeted with much excitement, and rightly so, for Christensen is bold and creative in possession. The Denmark youth international was one of the stand-out performers for the Under-21s in 2012/13, and made his First Team debut in the FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round tie at Norwich City in January 2014.

At the end of January, Christensen agreed a new deal with the Club that ties him to Fulham until 30th June 2017.

Made 23 appearances for Fulham's Under-21s in all competitions in the 2013/14 season, scoring twice.

The following campaign was the youngster's real breakthrough. Having made two appearances under Felix Magath, the appointment of Kit Symons as Manager saw him blossom. He quickly became an instrumental member of Symons' side, and improved with every game he played.

By Christmas he had scored five goals and had just as many assists to his name. Adding a creative spark to Fulham's play when he's in the starting XI, it didn't take long for him to become a true fans' favourite.

So much so that Whites supporters deemed two of his goals to be our best in the Football League in 2014 - against Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday.

That Huddersfield strike went on to be voted as Fulham's Goal of the Season by the supporters, whilst he also finished third in our Player of the Season poll, despite missing a hefty chunk of the campaign through injury.
