Luca Ashby-Hammond joined Fulham at Under-9 level alongside fellow scholars Zico Asare and Matt O’Riley. He is renowned for his distribution and is confident playing out from the back.
He played regularly for England Youth Level at Under-16s.
He went on to have an impressive first year as a Scholar, making 20 appearances for the Young Whites. In October at the age of 16 he was called up to Peter Grant's Under-23s side., he went on to make 11 appearances.
Ashby-Hammond was subsequently called up by Steve Cooper for England’s Under-17s European Championship team and handed the number 1 shirt.
The Young Lions were knocked out in the semi-final on penalties to eventual Champions, Holland. Ashby-Hammond took a penalty and rifled it into the top corner, just as he had done against Huddersfield in the FA Youth Cup earlier in the season.
He advanced form this by stepping up to the Young Lions' Under-18 squad, being called-up alongside fellow stopper George Wickens.
