Having spent time at both Napoli and Manchester City in his early teens, it is at Craven Cottage where Marcello Trotta is hoping to make his biggest impression.
The Italian striker has consistently turned heads since his arrival in the summer of 2009 and as a result stands out as one of the Club’s brightest young talents. Imposing, skilful and ruthless in front of goal, underneath the languid gait lays a dedicated and determined young man.
He made his professional breakthrough in a successful loan spell at League One club Wycombe Wanderers where he scored eight goals in eight appearances before making his Fulham debut in the Club’s FA Cup Fourth Round defeat at Everton.
On 22nd November 2012, Trotta joined Brentford on loan until 13th January 2013 - a deal which was later extended until the end of the season. The striker helped his temporary side reach the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley, but they were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Yeovil Town.
He returned to Brentford for another loan spell on 2nd September 2013, when he stayed until the end of the campaign as the Bees won promotion to the Championship.
